About Me

My name is Alicia Roach, and I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I am a mother and teacher to 6 wonderful boys. My journey as a Doula began about 18 years ago long before I even knew of the term. I started with supporting friends and family through pregnancy, labor/delivery, and postpartum. I loved every minute of it! Supporting mothers through the joy, fears, and uncertainties of childbirth, came so naturally for me, I knew becoming a Doula was the path I needed to pursue. Years later, I became a mother and experienced similar challenges during my pregnancy, labor/delivery, and postpartum. Being the "go to" in my community I was not able to get the support and encouragement I yearned for. Having experienced these challenges during my pregnancy and knowing how naturally skilled I am with supporting mothers really solidified my path as a Doula.

My community has helped me in so many ways, from raising my kids, providing resources, and supporting me in making my dreams a reality. My local neighbors, programs, and school staff were there when I felt alone, disconnected, and vulnerable. It has always been through the power of the community that I have received unconditional love and support. It would be a disservice to me and what I believe in if I did not give back to my community with the same unconditional love and support as a Doula.

I believe every laboring mother and family should have the best labor and delivery experience possible. I face adversity head on and proud to be the voice for those who are unable to advocate for themselves during this time. I am compassionate, empathetic, sensitive, and intuitive but also known to be assertive when needed to reach the goals of expectant mothers. With the mix of these amazing qualities, I assure you I am the best Doula for you and your family as we partner in "Birthing with Dignity".
